Bars place each figure against the 4 RV and boat units we track, from the lowest published value to the highest, with the median marked. A bar is drawn only where at least three units publish the figure. Green sits on the better side of the median, amber on the weaker side; amps and weight have no better side.
"Not yet verified" means the manufacturer has not published the figure or we could not confirm it. We never fill a gap with a guess and we do not invent measurements: every figure is the maker's own or a specialty dealer's, and the source is named.
The short version
What we like
- ✓501 air watts, 120 in water lift and 100 CFM, strong for a compact RV unit
- ✓35 ft VRoom hose retracts into a 2 in housing and docks with a hose lock and short handle
- ✓Wand and four tools in the box; power unit fits compartments as small as 10 by 20 in
- ✓Built by H-P Products (Vacuflo and Dirt Devil central vacuums)
What we'd change
- ✕Specs are retailer figures; H-P's own site does not list the CV1500
- ✕Noise and square footage not published; weights on the RecPro page do not add up
- ✕Warranty is layered: 30 days from RecPro, then H-P, and the VRoom hose has its own
Who this unit is for
The RecPro RV Central Vacuum System is an RV and boat built-in vacuum, not a whole-house central vacuum. Under the RecPro name it is the Dirt Devil CV1500 power unit, the same compact unit we review as the 9880 attachment bundle, sold by the RV retailer RecPro as SKU RP-2108 with a 35 ft VRoom retractable hose (RP-2109) and a tool set.
Buy it for the hose. The CV1500 with a stretch hose and one inlet is already in our catalog; this bundle swaps the loose hose for one that retracts into a housing and docks in a cabinet. Against the InterVac RoadVac CS-8 and CS-RM, the CV1500 has higher suction figures and a bag twice the size, but a far thinner spec sheet and a muddier warranty.
What the specs tell you
RecPro’s unit-only listing and Nomadic Supply list 501 air watts, 120 in of water lift and 100 CFM at 11.7 A maximum on 120V. Air watts predicts cleaning at the tool; 501 is a good figure for a compact unit, well above the RoadVac’s 414. Water lift is sealed suction; 120 in is more than a 35 ft hose needs. 100 CFM is airflow. These are retailer numbers: H-P Products’ own site does not list the CV1500, so there is no manufacturer sheet to check them against.
Noise is not published. Square footage is not published; RecPro says it retrofits to any RV central vacuum and the power unit fits compartments as small as 10 by 20 in.
Collection is bagged: a 1 gal bag that RecPro describes as a HEPA filter bag capturing 99.97 percent of particles at 0.3 micron, sold in 3-packs for the CV1500. No certified HEPA rating for the unit is stated. Motor type and stages are not stated.
Weight: RecPro lists the power unit at 14 lb, the hose and dock at 10 lb and the system at 20 lb, which does not add up. The unit is 14.5 in high by 6.25 in wide by 7 in deep per Nomadic Supply.
Fit and compatibility
Low-voltage, plug-in 120V, not hardwired. The VRoom is the system: a 1.25 in inner hose inside a 2 in flexible housing, retracting automatically, with a docking station that has a hose lock and a short hose handle. The docking station is where you plug in and where the hose lives, so place it where 35 ft reaches the whole coach. The 2 in housing is what connects back to the power unit, and that housing needs a path through cabinetry.
Exhaust outside is optional. Mounting is a bracket for the power unit and the docking station for the hose.
What is not clear from RecPro’s bundle page is whether a separate wall port and connectors are included. The unit-only RP-2107 listing mentions a wall port and connectors; the VRoom bundle page does not.
What’s in the box, and what you still need
In the box, per RecPro: the CV1500 power unit, the 35 ft VRoom retractable hose in its 2 in housing, the docking station and mounting bracket with hose lock and hose handle, an adjustable wand, a combination rug and floor tool, a dusting brush, an upholstery tool and a crevice tool.
Not stated for this bundle: bags (the unit-only listing includes 3), a wall port and connectors. Not included: RecPro’s VacPan and Maxumizer kits, sold separately.
Warranty and support
This is where the bundle gets complicated. RecPro’s warranty page says Dirt Devil items get 30 days through RecPro, after which you contact the manufacturer, H-P Products. RecPro-branded RV products carry 1 year from retail sale against manufacturer defects, original purchaser, proof of purchase, labor excluded; whether this Amazon listing, branded RecPro, falls under that is not stated.
H-P Products’ Dirt Devil central-vacuum warranty covers permanently installed components for as long as the original purchaser owns them, when bought from an authorized dealer, with registration and proof of purchase. VRoom products are excluded and carry their own warranty. Nomadic Supply lists 5 years for the CV1500. Returns: RecPro’s product page says 90 days, its returns page says 30 days for most undamaged items, and Amazon’s listing says 30 days.
Living with it
Change the 1 gal bag often in a sandy coach. The VRoom retracts on its own, so the daily routine is pull, clean, let it go; the short handle at the dock handles the entry mat without pulling the hose out. Keep the 2 in housing free of kinks behind the cabinet, because that is the air path. With no published noise figure, assume it is loud in a small cabin and mount the power unit as far from the bed as the housing allows.
What we’d verify before buying
- Noise: not published.
- Whether bags ship with the VRoom bundle.
- Whether a wall port and connectors are included.
- The labelling on the unit: RecPro or Dirt Devil.
- Who covers the power unit after RecPro’s 30 days, and whether Amazon counts as an authorized dealer.
- Weights: 14 lb plus 10 lb does not make 20 lb.
- Return window: 90 days (product page) versus 30 days (returns page and Amazon).

Frequently asked questions
Is the RecPro RV central vacuum a whole-house unit?
No. It is the Dirt Devil CV1500, a compact RV, boat and garage unit with a 1 gal bag, bundled by the RV retailer RecPro with a 35 ft VRoom retractable hose and tools.
Who actually makes it?
Dirt Devil central vacuums are built by H-P Products of Louisville, Ohio, which also makes Vacuflo, under license from Royal Appliance. Amazon brands the listing RecPro; whether the unit carries RecPro or Dirt Devil labels is unverified.
How does the VRoom hose work?
A 1.25 in hose rides inside a 2 in flexible housing. You pull it out to 35 ft; it retracts automatically. The docking station has a hose lock and a short hose handle for quick cleanups.
What are the specs?
501 air watts, 120 in water lift, 100 CFM, 11.7 A maximum at 120V, 1 gal HEPA filter bag, power unit 14.5 in high by 6.25 in wide by 7 in deep, 14 lb. These are RecPro and Nomadic Supply figures, not a manufacturer sheet.
Does it come with bags?
RecPro's unit-only listing (RP-2107) says 3 HEPA bags. The VRoom bundle page (RP-2108) does not list bags. Confirm before you order.
What is the warranty?
RecPro gives Dirt Devil items 30 days, after which you contact H-P Products. H-P's Dirt Devil warranty covers permanently installed components for the original purchaser when bought from an authorized dealer, with registration, and excludes VRoom products, which carry their own warranty. Another retailer lists 5 years for the CV1500.
