Manufacturers and retailers do not pay for placement, rankings or scores. Affiliate commissions are disclosed on every page and do not influence recommendations. When the honest pick is a product we cannot earn from, such as a dealer-only brand, we recommend it anyway and tell you where to get it.

How products are chosen

We cover what people can actually buy, verified against manufacturer documentation, and we rank by the specs that matter in a house: sealed suction and airflow for the pipe run, filtration, warranty terms, inlet and hose compatibility, and what else you need to buy. Discontinued products stay listed with a notice while stock exists, because replacement buyers still search for them.

Free or loaned products

If a manufacturer supplies a unit, the review says so at the top. We do not promise coverage or a verdict in exchange for a product.

How pages are written

Drafts are produced with the help of AI tools working from our research files and style guide. A named human editor checks every fact against its source, edits the text, and signs off before publication, and a working installer reviews every compatibility and wiring claim. If a page has not had that review it is not published.

Updates and corrections

Commercial pages are re-checked quarterly for discontinued products, changed specs and dead links. Corrections are logged on the page with the date. To report an error, use the contact page.
