Bars place each figure against the 4 RV and boat units we track, from the lowest published value to the highest, with the median marked. A bar is drawn only where at least three units publish the figure. Green sits on the better side of the median, amber on the weaker side; amps and weight have no better side.
"Not yet verified" means the manufacturer has not published the figure or we could not confirm it. We never fill a gap with a guess and we do not invent measurements: every figure is the maker's own or a specialty dealer's, and the source is named.
The short version
What we like
- ✓Published sealed and working suction figures, weight and dimensions from InterVac
- ✓Full package includes the TK-108B tool kit, AF-10-X fitting set, VacPort, inlet valve, flex hose and wire
- ✓Remote inlet means the hose plugs into a wall valve, not the cabinet
- ✓2-year warranty that names Amazon as an authorized retailer
What we'd change
- ✕0.5 gal bag; the Y11 double-collar bag is specific to this unit and the Y10 does not fit
- ✕74.6 dB, and 414 air watts is the lowest in our records
- ✕Amps, weight and included-contents lists conflict between InterVac's page and manual
Who this unit is for
The InterVac RoadVac CS-RM is a built-in vacuum for an RV, a boat or a tiny home, not a whole-house central vacuum. InterVac rates it for up to 900 sq ft. The difference from the RoadVac CS-8 is where the hose goes: the CS-8 has a port on its face, so the cabinet needs an opening you can reach; the CS-RM hides behind a panel and feeds a remote AS-40 inlet valve or A900 VacPort through 2 in flex hose. You plug the hose into the wall, not the cabinet.
It is the right pick when the only cabinet with room for the unit is not the one you want to kneel at. Against the Dirt Devil CV1500 and the RecPro bundle of the same unit, the CS-RM has lower suction figures and a smaller bag but a far more complete published spec sheet.
What the specs tell you
InterVac lists 414 air watts, 92 in of sealed water lift and 107 CFM maximum from a 1,200 W motor, and says the figures are the same across every RoadVac model. Air watts predicts cleaning at the tool; 414 is the lowest in our records, used through one 35 ft stretch hose and a short flex run rather than a pipe network. Water lift is sealed suction; 92 in is low for a house and fine for one valve a few feet from the unit. InterVac also publishes working figures, 52 in and 38 CFM, which describe the unit with air moving and are the numbers to plan around.
Noise is 74.6 dB, among the loudest in our records. Behind a panel it is better than the CS-8 in an open cabinet, and the optional AS-61 exhaust kit helps more.
Collection is bagged only: a 0.5 gal Y11 HEPA-type 5-layer sealed bag with a washable Y22 motor filter. The Y11 is a double-collar bag for the CS-RM, CS9 and CS10; the single-collar Y10 from the CS-6 and CS-8 does not substitute. Half a gallon is tiny; in a sandy RV you will change bags often. No certified HEPA rating is stated.
Conflicts: amps 12 (page) versus 10 (manual); weight 8 lb (page) versus 5.6 lb (manual); dimensions 11.75 by 6 by 6.75 in on the page versus 12 by 12 by 8 on its additional-information tab. Motor stages are not stated.
Fit and compatibility
Low-voltage. The unit mounts in-wall with the supplied clamps behind a panel, cutout 11 in wide by 6 in high, and needs more depth than the CS-8’s 6 in because the flex hose leaves from the back-port D920 flange. An optional C065 bracket set allows surface or horizontal mounting.
From the flange, the 4 ft X640 2 in flex hose runs to the AS-40 inlet valve or the VacPort; the manual puts the valve 3 to 4 ft from the unit, and longer runs need extra X640 hose. The valve’s 24V switch wires back to the unit’s yellow pigtails with the 6 ft E30 wire; this is low-voltage work a careful DIYer can do. Power is a 5 ft US 120V cord, with a dedicated 20 A circuit recommended in the manual. 110V and 220V versions exist.
Exhaust outside is optional through the AS-61 kit, sold separately.
What’s in the box, and what you still need
In the full package: the CS-RM unit with screws and clamps, 5 ft cord, Y11 bag and Y22 filter; the TK-108B tool kit with 35 ft stretch hose, X157 telescopic wand, X403 rug and floor tool, X250 dust brush, X300 upholstery tool, X200 crevice tool and mesh bag; the AF-10-X fitting set with a VacPort in ebony or white, AS-40 inlet valve, six D-900 threaded couplings, a P-20 elbow, a P-22 hose-to-pipe fitting, two P-30 couplings and a P-40 wye; 4 ft of X640 flex hose; and 6 ft of 22-gauge low-voltage wire.
Not included: the AS-61 exhaust kit, extra X640 hose for a longer valve run, and the C065 surface-mount bracket set.
Warranty and support
InterVac gives 2 years on power units and VacPorts and 30 days on accessories, from the original purchase, for the original purchaser. Proof of purchase and a warranty card or online registration are required, and commercial and rental use are excluded. InterVac’s warranty page states that purchases through authorized retailers including Amazon are covered. InterVac Design is in Palm City, Florida; country of manufacture is not stated.
Living with it
Buy Y11 bags in quantity and do not substitute the Y10. Check the Y22 motor filter at each bag change. The stretch hose stores short and pulls to 35 ft from the wall valve; the VacPort, if you fit it, takes a swept pile at floor level. Because the unit is behind a panel, plan how you will reach the bag before you close the wall.
What we’d verify before buying
- Amps: 12 A (page) versus 10 A (manual).
- Weight: 8 lb (page) versus 5.6 lb (manual).
- Dimensions: two sets on InterVac’s own page; the depth you need behind the panel.
- Whether your listing is the replacement unit or the full package.
- VacPort color: ebony or white.
- Motor stages and a certified HEPA rating: not stated.

Frequently asked questions
Is the RoadVac CS-RM a whole-house central vacuum?
No. It is an RV, boat and tiny-home built-in vacuum rated for up to 900 sq ft. The power unit mounts behind a panel or in a cabinet and feeds one remote inlet valve.
How is it different from the CS-8?
Same motor and figures. The CS-8 has a hose port on its face and takes the single-collar Y10 bag. The CS-RM takes air from a remote inlet through 2 in flex hose, uses the double-collar Y11 bag, needs more cabinet depth and ships with the AF-10-X fitting set.
What are the specs?
414 air watts, 92 in sealed water lift (52 in working), 107 CFM maximum (38 working), 1,200 W, 74.6 dB, 0.5 gal bag, 8 lb per the product page.
What is in the full package?
The unit with screws, clamps, cord, Y11 bag and Y22 filter; the TK-108B kit (35 ft stretch hose, telescopic wand, rug and floor tool, dust brush, upholstery tool, crevice tool, mesh bag); the AF-10-X fitting set with a VacPort in ebony or white, AS-40 inlet valve, couplings, elbow, hose-to-pipe fitting and wye; 4 ft of X640 flex hose; and 6 ft of low-voltage wire.
What circuit does it need?
120V, 5 ft cord. The page says 12 A at 60 Hz, the manual 10 A, and the manual recommends a dedicated 20 A circuit. 110V and 220V versions exist.
Can the exhaust be ducted out?
Yes, with the optional AS-61 exhaust kit (funnel, 2.5 ft of X640 hose and spigot). It is not included.
What is the warranty?
2 years on power units and VacPorts, 30 days on accessories, original purchaser, proof of purchase and registration required, commercial and rental use excluded. InterVac's warranty page says purchases through authorized retailers including Amazon are covered.
