Bars place each figure against the 7 garage and utility units we track, from the lowest published value to the highest, with the median marked. A bar is drawn only where at least three units publish the figure. Green sits on the better side of the median, amber on the weaker side; amps and weight have no better side.
"Not yet verified" means the manufacturer has not published the figure or we could not confirm it. We never fill a gap with a guess and we do not invent measurements: every figure is the maker's own or a specialty dealer's, and the source is named.

Who this unit is for
The Prolux PLCGV is a wall-mounted wet/dry garage vacuum, not a whole-house central vacuum. There is no pipe and no inlet; a 32 ft hose plugs into the unit on the wall, and the unit also blows, shampoos and picks up water. Prolux, in West Jordan, Utah, says it is designed and developed in the US; the country of manufacture is not published.
It is for a garage or detailing bay that wants one unit for everything: dry dirt off the floor, a spilled bucket, shampooing car carpet, and blowing out a footwell. None of the other garage units we cover does wet pick-up or blowing. The right comparisons are VacuMaid’s Garage Vac PRO and Utility Vac, which are dry bagged units with bigger capacity, and the InterVac GarageVac GH-120, a much smaller dry unit.
What the specs tell you
Airflow is where the maker contradicts itself. Prolux’s product page lists 162 CFM, and 155 or more at the unit. Prolux’s own instruction manual lists 107 CFM. Both are the maker’s documents, and we cannot say which describes the unit as sold; the Amazon listing repeats the page’s 162. Air watts and water lift are not published. The motor is 12 A at 120 V, double-insulated, brand not stated.
Capacity has the same problem: 5.88 gal (22 L) on the page, 5.3 gal in the manual. Either way it is a clear bagless bin between the 1 gal bags of the InterVac and Dirt Devil units and the 7 gal bags of the VacuMaid garage line, and it shuts off automatically when it fills with water.
Noise is 72 dB per the manual; Amazon’s listing says 73. That matches the InterVac GH-120 and is well above VacuMaid’s 58 dB Utility Vac. Weight is 25 lb. Dimensions are 12.6 by 13.8 by 31.5 in, which the manual gives as 32 by 35 by 80 cm.
Filtration is a washable HEPA filter plus a washable inner cloth filter bag, with the maker recommending a new HEPA filter each year. The record marks it HEPA; no certification standard is cited, and in a bagless unit you will handle the dust when you empty the bin.
Fit and compatibility
Nothing to pipe. The record lists no inlet systems and no pipe size, and Prolux sells it as a stand-alone wall unit. Mount the bracket with the supplied screws, mount the tool caddy next to it, and plug the polarized 120 V plug into a nearby outlet. At 12 A it wants a circuit without much else on it. Exhaust outside is optional; the exhaust port doubles as the blower.
What’s in the box, and what you still need
In the box: the unit, a 32 ft flexible crush-proof wet/dry hose, hose holder, extension wands, accessory tool caddy, a multi-surface floor tool with a push-button hard floor and carpet switch, a wet pickup squeegee floor tool, crevice tool, dusting brush, upholstery tool, a mini turbo head with a spinning brushroll for pet hair, an extraction shampooer suction tool with a suds gun sprayer, three sizes of detailing and inflator tools, a long precision blower tool, the wall bracket with screws, and the washable HEPA filter and inner cloth filter bag.
Not included: replacement HEPA filters, which the maker says to change yearly, and anything to pipe, because it is not a piped system. The product was listed sold out on Prolux’s site on 2026-10-27; a blue version exists at retailers.
Warranty and support
Prolux’s page says 3 years on the entire unit besides tools and filters. The manual’s three-year limited warranty is for normal household use and excludes filters, accessories, brushes, belts and electrical parts that normally require replacement, normal wear, and any unit used for commercial purposes. Non-Prolux bags, filters or repairs void it. Prolux’s central vacuum units carry a different, longer warranty; it does not apply to this garage unit.
Neither the page nor the manual addresses marketplace purchases. Keep the invoice; Prolux’s warranty terms for its other lines require original proof of purchase, and this one is unlikely to differ.
Living with it
Empty the bin after wet work and let it dry, or the cloth filter bag will smell. Wash the HEPA filter and cloth bag as they load; plan on a new HEPA filter each year. A bagless bin means dust in the air when you dump it, so empty it outside.
The shampooer and suds gun turn it into a carpet extractor for car interiors, which is a job the dry units cannot do at all. The blower clears a footwell or a bench faster than vacuuming it. At 72 dB, it is a shop vacuum in noise terms; keep it off a wall shared with living space or vent it outside.
