"Not yet verified" means the manufacturer has not published the figure or we could not confirm it. We never fill a gap with a guess; our own measurements are added once a unit has been tested hands-on.
The short version
What we like
- ✓Manufacturer-published specs and a live product page
- ✓Bagless cyclonic with an optional plastic can liner
- ✓10-year motor and electrical warranty; lifetime limited canister
- ✓Built by Lindsay Manufacturing in Ponca City, Oklahoma
What we'd change
- ✕440 air watts is the lowest full-size figure in our records
- ✕75 dB with vented exhaust is loud
- ✕Manufacturer and Amazon figures conflict (440 vs 525 air watts)
- ✕Weight and amps not published by VacuMaid
Who this unit is for
VacuMaid describes the P125P as a replacement option for compatible existing central vacuum installations, and that is how to think about it. It is for someone whose older bagless unit has died, who wants a US-built replacement with a long motor warranty, and whose power unit sits somewhere its noise does not matter.
It is not a performance pick. Its air watt figure is the lowest among the full-size units we cover, and its noise rating is the highest.
What the specs tell you
VacuMaid lists 440 air watts, 124.6 in of water lift and 115.8 CFM from a 7.2 in, 2-stage tangential bypass motor. Air watts predicts how hard a powerhead pulls on carpet; 440 is well below the 650 to 750 of the leading units here. Water lift is sealed suction, what keeps the system pulling through long runs and climbs; 124.6 in is respectable and is why VacuMaid rates it for 9,000 sq ft. The lesson: this unit will reach a far inlet fine, but it will not pull as hard once the air is flowing through a carpet tool.
Noise is 75 dB with vented exhaust, the loudest full-size unit in our records.
Collection is bagless cyclonic into a 27 qt canister. VacuMaid’s air channel design lets you line the can with a plastic bag, which turns a dusty dump into a tidier one. There is no bag or hybrid mode.
Amazon’s A+ content gives different numbers: 525 air watts maximum, 116 CFM, 125 in, 13.5 A and 76 dB. The record uses the manufacturer page and leaves amps null because only Amazon states it. Weight is not published.
Fit and compatibility
Standard 2-inch pipe, wall bracket mount. VacuMaid lists low-voltage and direct-connect electric inlet compatibility. Plug-in 120V; not hardwired.
Exhaust outside is recommended, and the noise figure assumes it. Dimensions are 13.625 in diameter by 38.75 in high.
What’s in the box, and what you still need
The record lists nothing specific as included beyond the unit itself. Not included: hose and attachments, pipe, fittings and inlets. Confirm with the seller whether a bracket and can liners ship with it. Add an exhaust cap and consider a muffler.
Warranty and support
VacuMaid’s product page calls it a 10 Year Limited Lifetime Warranty. The manufacturer warranty page breaks that down as lifetime limited on the canister and 10 years on the motor and internal electrical, for the original owner on US-sold units. It is non-transferable, void if serviced by anyone other than an authorized dealer with replacement parts, and claims should go first to the authorized dealer-installer.
VacuMaid’s warranty page does not mention Amazon, eBay or unauthorized sellers. Notably, Lindsay Manufacturing itself is the listed Amazon seller for this unit, so a marketplace purchase may well be direct from the maker. Confirm the seller name at checkout.
Living with it
Emptying means lifting off the 27 qt canister and dumping it, outdoors. Use a plastic can liner to keep that clean; VacuMaid’s air channel is designed for it. There is no bag or disposable filter in the record, so ask whether a motor-protection screen needs periodic cleaning.
At 75 dB vented, mount it in a detached garage or on an exterior wall far from bedrooms, and vent it outside.
What we’d verify before buying
- Air watts and other figures: manufacturer and Amazon sources disagree.
- Amps: not published by VacuMaid (Amazon says 13.5 A).
- Weight: not published.
- What ships in the box; the record lists nothing.
- Which older units VacuMaid considers compatible, since it positions this as a replacement.
- The Amazon seller name, to confirm a direct-from-Lindsay purchase.
