"Not yet verified" means the manufacturer has not published the figure or we could not confirm it. We never fill a gap with a guess; our own measurements are added once a unit has been tested hands-on.
The short version
What we like
- ✓Manufacturer-published specs from H-P Products
- ✓Air-driven: works on any hose, including low-voltage and air-only
- ✓13 in width, automatic height, four wheels, Poly-V quiet-drive belt #8439-01
- ✓3-year warranty
- ✓1.25 in friction-fit neck fits standard wands
What we'd change
- ✕Turbine power depends on the power unit's airflow; weaker on thick carpet than an electric head
- ✕Weight conflicts (6 lb vs 4.95 lb)
- ✕Vacuflo is dealer-only and its marketplace warranty stance is unknown
Who this powerhead is for
The Vacuflo TurboCat Zoom 8702 is for anyone whose central vacuum has low-voltage or air-only inlets and who wants a spinning brush for carpet without adding electric hoses or 120V inlet wiring. Because it is driven by airflow, it plugs onto any standard 1.25 in wand and runs on any hose. H-P Products, Vacuflo’s parent, publishes its specs and backs it with a 3-year warranty, which is more than most heads in our records can say.
It is not the pick for deep-pile carpet in a home that already has 120V electric hoses; an electric head will agitate harder and will not slow down when the bag fills.
What the specs tell you
H-P Products lists a 13 in width, automatic height adjustment, a Poly-V quiet-drive belt (#8439-01), a DeepSweep II brush roll (retailers call it Vac-N-Groom), four wheels and a 1.25 in friction-fit neck. Thirteen inches is a good compromise between coverage and maneuverability. Automatic height means the head floats to the carpet. Four wheels keep the nozzle at a steady height and make it easier to push than a two-wheel design. A Poly-V belt is flat and ribbed, quieter and longer-lived than a round belt, and the published part number means you can keep a spare.
The thing the specs cannot tell you is how hard the brush will spin in your house. A turbine converts your power unit’s airflow into brush speed, so a strong unit on a short run spins it fast and a small unit at the end of a long run spins it slowly. Dirty filters and full bags slow it too. There is no brush speed or power figure for the head, because there cannot be one without the system.
Weight conflicts: 6 lb in one source, 4.95 lb in another. No noise figure is published.
Fit and compatibility
No electrical connection. The 1.25 in friction-fit neck pushes onto a standard wand; there is no button lock or quick-disconnect to match. That means it works with low-voltage hoses, air-only hoses and electric hoses alike, and it does not care what inlet type you have. It needs a wand, which is not included.
What’s in the box, and what you still need
The record does not itemize contents; the product is the head. You still need a 1.25 in wand and a hose of any type, plus a power unit. Order a spare #8439-01 belt.
Warranty and support
Three years. Vacuflo is an H-P Products brand that sells through dealers; no Vacuflo support URL is on file and its stance on marketplace purchases is unknown. Vacuflo’s attachment warranty page, cited in our hose records, notes that counterfeit Vacuflo hoses have been reported on marketplaces, so for any Vacuflo accessory confirm the seller is an authorized dealer and keep the receipt.
Living with it
Clear hair from the brush roll often; a slowed turbine is usually a wrapped brush, not a weak unit. Replace the #8439-01 belt when the brush slows under light load. Check the turbine inlet for debris if the head stops spinning. There is no height to set and no cord to manage.
What we’d verify before buying
- Weight: 6 lb versus 4.95 lb.
- Noise: not published.
- Box contents: not itemized.
- Your power unit’s airflow on the run where you will use it.
- That the seller is an authorized Vacuflo dealer, given counterfeit reports on Vacuflo accessories.
