Who this kit is for

The Prolux Premium 35 ft kit is for a home that wants an electric powerhead and a full tool set in one box, and especially for one that is not sure whether it will run pigtail or direct-connect. It ships as a pigtail kit for standard low-voltage inlets and includes a direct-connect conversion kit, so if you later add electrified inlets the hose comes along. It is the natural partner to Prolux’s CV12000 power unit.

It is documented on Prolux’s own product page, which puts it ahead of most kits for specs. The open question is which power nozzle you get.

What the specs tell you

Prolux lists a 35 ft crushproof electric hose with a 3-way handle switch, a power nozzle with LED headlights, height adjustment and a rubber bumper, a telescopic wand, crevice tool, duster, upholstery tool, floor tool, mini turbo pet tool, hose hanger, tool caddy and the direct-connect conversion kit.

The 3-way switch is the daily-use feature: off, unit only for bare floors and tools, unit plus nozzle for carpet. The mini turbo pet tool is an air-driven hand brush for upholstery and stairs, a useful extra. Crushproof means the hose springs back when stepped on.

The power nozzle is the moving target. Prolux now calls it the North American Power Nozzle; older listings named a Wessel-Werk EBK360, and a pl35-280 variant used the smaller EBK250. Width, weight and motor power are not stated for the current nozzle. Hose diameter is not stated either.

Fit and compatibility

As shipped, the pigtail hose plugs into a standard low-voltage inlet with two contacts and takes 120V from a nearby wall outlet. With the included conversion kit fitted, it instead draws 120V from an electrified direct-connect inlet, with no cord. That covers both common inlet types; only air-only inlets with no low-voltage contacts are out.

The power nozzle connects through the kit’s own wand, so the two match. Adding electrified inlets later is a licensed electrician’s job; the conversion kit is the hose-end part, not the wall wiring.

Warranty and support

One year on the kit and 2 years on the power nozzle motor. Prolux’s general terms require the original invoice, encourage registration, and require authorized service with Prolux or Trovac parts; no marketplace language was found. Prolux’s about page says the company pays shipping both ways on warranty claims. Prolux is built by Trovac Industries of Blainville, Quebec, and says the kit is designed in the USA; the manufacturing country is not stated.

Living with it

Use the middle switch position on bare floors to spare the belt. Clear hair from the nozzle’s brush roll regularly. The pet tool is air-driven, so it slows if airflow drops. Keep tools in the caddy and the hose on the hanger. Identify the nozzle’s belt part number once you know which nozzle you received.
