Who this unit is for

The OVO 750ST-25H is for a large home where the mounting wall cannot take the taller 35 L canister. You get the same 750 air watt, 2-stage motor as the 750ST-35H in a unit about 5 in shorter, rated by OVO for about 9,000 sq ft and 9 inlets. The trade is a smaller 25 L canister and 12.5 L bag, so you empty it more often.

It is a bare power unit for replacement or new installs on standard 2-inch pipe. OVO also sells it bundled with its Deluxe attachment kit for hard-surface homes.

What the specs tell you

OVO’s product page lists 750 air watts, 146 in of water lift and a 5.7 in 2-stage thru-flow motor with soft start and stop. Air watts is the combined suction-and-airflow figure that predicts carpet cleaning at the tool. Water lift is sealed suction; it determines how much pull survives a long pipe run with many elbows and a vertical climb. 146 in is the highest figure in OVO’s line and gives you real margin on a 9-inlet system.

OVO rates this unit at 65 dB. That is 3 dB quieter than the same motor in the 35 L shell and 2 dB louder than the 700ST-25H. Noise is measured at the unit, so where you mount it matters more than the difference between these figures.

Collection is hybrid cyclonic: bagless with the 25 L canister, or bagged with the FD-12.5L (3.2 gal) disposable bag. The FP-8 washable permanent filter is mandatory in both modes. With a powerful motor and a smaller bag, bagged mode will mean more frequent changes; bagless means more frequent trips to dump a canister of fine dust.

Not published: CFM and weight.

Fit and compatibility

Standard 2-inch pipe. OVO lists low-voltage and direct-connect electric inlet systems; a low-voltage wire socket is included. Power is plug-in 120V with an attached cord on a 15 A circuit per OVO’s manual for the ST series. Not hardwired.

Exhaust outside is recommended but optional. The MUSUP bracket is included. Dimensions are 12.91 in deep by 25.39 in high by 12.52 in wide, taken from OVO’s sheet for the 750LE-25H, which the record says shares the platform.

What’s in the box, and what you still need

In the box: the power unit, MUSUP wall bracket, one FD-12.5L disposable bag, the FP-8 permanent filter, attached power cord and a low-voltage wire socket.

Not included: hose and attachments (unless the kit variant), PVC pipe, fittings and inlets. Nothing in the record mentions an exhaust vent cap or muffler; plan on supplying both if you vent outside and want to quiet the exhaust.

Warranty and support

OVO: 10 years on parts, 1 year on labor, with an optional paid 25-year extension. Original owner only, non-transferable, residential use only. Proof of purchase is mandatory and OVO’s warranty page also asks for an installation invoice from a qualified installer. Unauthorized repairs void it. The FP-8 filter must be replaced every 2 years and bags changed at least twice a year to keep the warranty.

OVO’s documents do not mention marketplaces, so coverage on a marketplace purchase is unstated. Registration is offered, not required. No parts or repair service is offered in Quebec after sale, per OVO.

Living with it

Consumables are the FD-12.5L bag and the FP-8 permanent filter. With 750 air watts pulling into a 12.5 L bag, expect to check the bag more often than you would on the 35 L unit. The filter is machine washable; OVO requires replacement every 2 years regardless.

At 65 dB this is a garage or utility-room unit. Soft start and stop protects electric powerhead belts.

Frequently asked questions

Is the OVO 750ST-25H as powerful as the 750ST-35H?

Yes. Both list 750 air watts and 146 in water lift from the same 5.7 in 2-stage motor. The difference is canister size, height, inlet rating and noise.

How often will I empty the 25 L canister?

More often than the 35 L unit. OVO requires bags be changed at least twice a year; in a large home you will likely change the 12.5 L bag more often than that.

What is the noise rating?

OVO lists 65 dB, between the 700 (63 dB) and the 35 L 750 (68 dB).

Does it come with a hose and tools?

The bare unit does not. OVO's product page is for a bundle with the Deluxe attachment kit, so check which you are buying.

Can it vent inside?

OVO recommends venting outside but does not require it.

What bag and filter does it use?

The FD-12.5L disposable bag and the FP-8 washable permanent filter, which OVO requires you replace every 2 years.

Should you buy the OVO 750 Airwatts Heavy Duty Hybrid Central Vacuum, 25 L / 6.6 gal bottom-load canister?
